The lodge is family-owned and sits on a private reserve at the foot of the Langeberg mountains, just off the N2 near Albertinia. Game drives run in open Land Rovers with a ranger; the reserve is known for reliable sightings of lion, white rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and cheetah, plus a wide range of antelope and birds. Like most small reserves, leopards are rarely seen.
